[POLI-pills]

A  series of short video episodes that delve into the relationship between Poli's metaphysical research and collective consciousness. Personal, reflective, and deeply introspective, they are akin to visual and verbal journal entries.

POLI-pills explores the choices behind what's included and what's left out of the frame, discussing the implications of these choices on our understanding of the world. Each episode examines how Poli's photographic work acts as a conduit between individual and universal perception exploring the human-nature divide and the profound motivations behind his creative ethos.

Through thoughtful narration, Lorenzo shares insights into how his art investigation seeks to bridge worlds, inviting viewers to reflect on their own connections with the environment and society.

Earth as a body

Embracing the 'Earth as a body'— alive, breathing, nurturing — illuminates its vulnerability and resilience, fostering an awareness of our profound organic connection with the Planet. While Earth endures eons of presence, human life dissolves into transience.

Reframing the "Earth as a body" encourages symbiotic relationships and reciprocal bonds: the natural world emerges as a life-giving entity, source of wisdom and spiritual nourishment.

Dichotomous Nature

Throughout history, the vision of Nature has evolved, reflecting humanity's shifting relationship with the Earth. Ancestral civilisations and indigenous cultures viewed nature as a spiritual web, recognising the land as sacred and all life as interconnected.

In contrast, Western civilisations from Christianity and Judaism, from Humanism to Enlightenment, and through colonialism and the industrial revolutions, introduced dichotomous ideologies, positioning humans as separate from and dominant over nature.

This cultural shift marked the transition into the Anthropocene, characterised by profound human influence on the planet. Today's challenge is to reconcile this cultural legacy with a symbiotic vision of coexistence.

Biome vs Anthrobiome

Navigating the realms of biomes & anthrobiomes reveals our intricate bond with Earth— untouched nature and human-altered landscapes.

Biomes embody the pristine essence of life, the symphony of ecosystems in their purest forms, where the sacred silence speaks volumes.

In contrast, anthrobiome reflect our deep imprint on the planet, merging human activity with natural ecosystems, marking the Anthropocene epoch.

This juxtaposition calls for a mindful stewardship, urging us to cherish the Earth while acknowledging our transformative role, fostering ecotopic futures.
